Who is Benjamin Breeg?

That's the question Iron Maiden fans all over the world are asking at the moment. Since the band announced the tracklist of their new album due August 28 and confirmed that the song 'Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg' would be the first single, google has recieved thousands of visitors asking this question. Dozens of people have arrived at this website looking for this answer and I'll try to help them and the next visitors to find out who this guy is.

Well, it's very simple: Benjamin Breeg does not exist. It's just a fruit of Steve Harris imagination.

A couple of days after the album tracklist was released the following website appeared out of the blue: www.benjaminbreeg.co.uk It's all bollocks!

The website seems fairly well done but it would now appear that the site was set up by Sanctuary (Iron Maiden management) as a way of bringing the fans together, getting them talking about who Banjamin Breeg is and stirring up interest in the latest Maiden single. A marketing ploy? Perhaps, but it's a fun thing to do and credit to the band/management for coming up with the idea.

But if you prefer to believe he indeed exist (or existed), the Maiden artwork claims he died in 1978 with unknown birthdate and www.benjaminbreeg.co.uk claims he was born in London on September 3rd, 1939. Apparently he's a painter from Romania and he has written four books. According to the website, the message on his gravestone translates to "HERE LIES A MAN OF WHOM LITTLE IS KNOWN." (no kidding)

So, um who is this guy? LOL. What a headstone. That must really suck if he's a ghost and reads it.

Hi Nando! I just stopped by to share with you my love for a few flicks i've seen. I'm really into Asian flicks these days thanks to you so here are the movies i've seen lately:

The one you told me to watch eons ago: 'Zatoichi' -- Loved it!
'Quitting' starring actor Jai Hongsheng -- marvelous movie. '2046' I watch this movie over and over again in parts and pieces. I've seen others but can't remember the names right now.

On your list i've seen POC: DMC and V for Vendetta. Loved one, liked the other. I have Mrs. Henderson Presents but have yet to watch as well as Inside Man. The rest i'll get when the DVD's are released.

Where is your larger list of movies? Oh, I see the 'more' sign down there.

Well, hope to launch my blog again by Sept first. See you then!

Benjamin Breeg is EDDIE THE ED! Iron Maiden have always wanted to create a song around Eddie, so they came up with Benjamin Breeg. That is Eddie's real name people....

Yeh, I agree, Benjamin Breeg is actually Eddie. All clues led to that when you think a litlle. I believe it's a great idea, I mean all that stuff with Breeg confusion-making around web site of his "cousin". One could make a pretty good story out of it.

I think this site www.benjaminbreeg.co.uk is a cult to the fans for them to continue thinking:
who is this Benjamin Breeg really?
in agreement with the site he was born in London on September 3, 1939.
And they say that it disappeared in June 18, 1978 and the searches to find him/it was not well happened;
