My nickname comes from my name, Fernando. I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I was born in 78. I'm currently studying and working. I have a big passion for cinema (see the list of films I've seen below), some tv series and rock music in general. In this blog I write mainly about my useless thoughts, likes and dislikes and my pathetic life. Nothing very interesting, really!

Swimming

Last week I resumed my swimming activities (had stopped it during the holidays) and for my surprise my results were incredible. I swam 200 metres in about 5 minutes (ok, I know I'm not Michael Phelps or Ian Thorpe). You may think this simple fact is not that incredible at all. Well it is, seeing from the point of view that it used to take half of the 45 min class to swim the same distance before the holidays break. So since last week I've been swimming around 1000 metres per class (and leaving the pool without being tired). This is still not an outsanding performance but my next step is to double this distance in the next 2-3 months. I'll keep you guys informed about my performance.

Besides that life has been pretty slow. I have a secret plan, which does not depend just on me to happen, but if it does, it will be amazing and it will shake things up a bit! Besides that I'm giving english lessons in courses, companies and private lessons for businesspeople too. The experience has been amazing and it would not surprise me if someday I become a full time english teacher (still too far away from this situation, but who knows...).

WOW!! I AM impressed!! I used to swim pretty good, but never anything like that. Outstanding job Nando! So are you trying out for the Olympics or something? Just trying to stay in shape huh? You've been keeping yourself pretty busy which is a very good thing. You're my hero because I sure need someone to motivate me. Good hearing from you. I'll have to keep in touch much better, I know. Best wishes in becoming an English teacher. We can never have too many teachers!!
